A little pause this week to take stock and bring your voice into the room. I started the Hedge School newsletter to bring focus to the many inquiries that were alive for me. The many questions that gnawed at me in my sleep.
What I’d love to know is what questions or areas of your life are most alive for you. These will then help shape the future episodes of Hedge School. Also, if you are keen to write for Hedge School, I’d love to connect and bring your voice into the mix.
Such a potent inquiry Shebbie. When the tumultuous seas threaten to capsize us, how do we move forward with purpose and poise. I feel your work speaks so beautifully to this. Living into each moment as an opportunity to find a lifetime in that moment is how you live your life!
I love Jamie Wheal's concept in his book Recapture the Rapture. "Balancing the core values of the Hedonist, Purest, and Conformist. The Hedonist value sucking the marrow out of life and pursuing the fullest range of experience possible. The Purist values the sanctity of mind and body. The Conformist values expert advice and evidence. If we can integrate these three orientations, we will be stronger and more effective." Integrating these into my cycles of life, the pre-tragic, tragic, and post-tragic helps to keep me sane in a chaotic world. Thanks Steve!
I feel this one deeply. The wrestle between patience, striving, flowing is always a work in progress for me. Thanks for the inquiry, it is burrowing its way into my psyche.
How do we maintain overall balance without losing meaning and purpose in a chaotic world. That’s a big question but covers many aspects of my life.

The tension between my ambition and the pace of reality, is a common area of reflection. How do I reconcile the disparity or delay?
